CARROLL: Robert H. "Brownie" Benson, 82, of Carroll, passed away suddenly at home June 9, 2017. He was born July 9, 1934 to the late Halvin and Mary Benson in Carroll. Bob was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church; he graduated from Bloom-Carroll High School in 1952. He loved spending time on his CB Radio and computer. Bob worked at Lancaster Glass and Anchor Hocking for 15 years before being self-employed in Benson Excavating and farming until his retirement.

Bob was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church; he graduated from Bloom-Carroll High School in 1952. He loved spending time on his CB Radio and computer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother, Richard, Sister Jean Ann Warthman, Brother Halvin "Jack" Benson, Son, Jeffrey "Scooby" Benson.

Survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose (Kilbarger) Benson; children, Brad Benson (Nicole), Brenda (Bob) Stottsberry, Jeannette (Richard) Benedict, Brian (Debbie) Benson, Jennifer Benson; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; Brother Jerry (Ginny) Benson; many nieces, nephews and many friends. He will be forever remembered by his whistle.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with Father Thomas Kessler officiating. Burial will follow in Betzer Cemetery, Carroll
